- This class is one of a series to help you prepare for a future as an HVAC Technician
- The position of HVAC Technician is demanding and requires a wide variety of skills
- There is a lot of material, which will require a time commitment FREQUENTLY
Classroom Activity
- Attend class on a regular basis and pay attention - No phone calls, music, jokes, chit-chat, etc.
- Be on time - you're in Training to be an HVAC Technician
- Take lots of notes - they will prove to be valuable resource in your future position
- Get the book as soon as possible
- Start your Homework early in the semester - this is a huge task - don't put it off
Lab Activity (Board Exercises Apply to 53)
- Safety First - no rings, watches or anything that might dangle onto your lab work
- Complete your lab assigmments as a 3-Person Group first, then individually
- If you can't afford your own board, buddy-up with someone who does have a board
- Practice the Board-Work at home - there are no Time Limits in your home
Study Time
- The key to "Getting It" is Study Time - and lots of it
- In general, 6 hours per week outside of class is recommended
- Make the most of your Study Time - keep distractions to a minimum
- Repetition-Repetition-Repetition is the key to success for HVAC material
Web-Site Material
- There is huge amount of information on the Web-Site
- It is divided into Presentation, Flash Cards and Quizzes
- Mix it up at a speed you can handle comfortably
- If you keep at it, it will "click" - it's a good feeling
