Sensible vs Latent Heat
Sensible Heat can be measured by a thermometer. A change in measurable temperature of an object is caused by sensible heat.
Latent Heat is the energy required to change the state of a substance without changing its temperature.
Heat is removed from circulated air in 2 ways:
- Sensible - Warm air blowing against a cold coil
- Latent - Condensation forms within the unit, which needs a condensate pan to remove the water accumulation
